FINTECH OBSERVATORY

We aim to build a reliable, comprehensive and up-to-date Baltic FinTech database and provide independent analysis to help the ecosystem monitor and debate the sector’s strategic development.

FINTECH OBSERVATORY

We aim to build a reliable, comprehensive and up-to-date Baltic FinTech database and provide independent analysis to help the ecosystem monitor and debate the sector’s strategic development.

The Baltic countries want to position themselves as leading European FinTech hubs, and FinTech sector development is a strategic priority.

However, our gap analysis in Latvia found that the industry, policymakers, and other stakeholders need better, comprehensive data and independent analysis to:

  • Fully understand the scope and nature of the sector
  • Monitor the sector’s development and the implementation of the sector’s development strategies
  • Stimulate evidence-based discussions about future strategic directions
  • Share the accumulated industry knowledge and “know-how” with future FinTech founders and professionals to enhance the overall entrepreneurial capacity
  • Integrate the debates and analysis in the three Baltic countries

We are bridging these gaps through our FinTech Observatory.

We are bridging these gaps through our FinTech Observatory.

The Observatory will initially have four core elements:

  1. Baltic FinTech database and monitoring tool
  2. Annual Latvian FinTech sectoral development report
  3. FinTech “business profile” library
  4. Growing in-depth case study bank to be used as part of teaching

The first “proof of concept” database and monitoring tool will include data on Latvia and will be published in Autumn 2024 alongside the first Latvian FinTech sectoral development report.

We will be seeking stakeholders’ feedback on how to improve the set of tools to ensure they contribute to better policy development, research and education.

Maintaining a reliable and up-to-date database and knowledge bank requires ecosystem input. Get in touch to share your FinTech’s story!

We are also seeking to build collaborations with similar research initiatives elsewhere.
