As part of an EU-funded project from 2024 to 2026, we will annually publish a flagship report offering a systemic view of the Latvian financial services sector’s current state, risks, and development opportunities. We will assess international competitiveness and the sector’s support for local consumers and economic transformation.

Each report will feature a sector overview for longitudinal monitoring and will “deep-dive” into a focal question or issues of systemic importance for sectoral development. We focus on areas where gaps and misunderstandings exist in current debates to foster evidence-based policymaking.

The inaugural report, focusing on the effectiveness of competition in the mortgage market, will be released in summer 2024. Our approach emphasizes leveraging collective sectoral expertise and considering diverse perspectives. To contribute, please contact Kristīne Dambe (kristine.dambe@rbs.lv).
