SUMMARY:What Should Latvia's Next FinTech Strategy Look Like?
DESCRIPTION:In autumn 2024 the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with other ministries\, sectoral regulators and the industry started work on the new national FinTech strategy to replace the previous one. SUMMARY:Mortgage lending and promoting competition: time to shift gears?
DESCRIPTION:The Baltic Financial Center has conducted an independent study analyzing Latvian and global practices in mortgage market design and competition promotion to promote evidence-based discussion and offer proposals for market development. \nThe event will present the study’s conclusions and discuss the following questions: \n\nWhat kind of mortgage market do we want to develop over the next 5-10 years\, and what are we currently lacking for an effective competitive process?\nWill the solutions implemented so far to improve competition be sufficient\, considering the experience of other countries?\nWho is responsible for promoting competition in the financial sector\, and how can the approach to promoting competition be strengthened based on global best practices?\n\nThe event will be held in Latvian\, with English translation available.\nPlease fill out the registration form by November 5th.
